Tulio Romano was born in Córdoba, Argentina in 1960. He studied at the Escuela Provincial de Bellas Artes “Figueroa Alcorta” and the Escuela de Artes at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentina.
Since the mid-80’s, Romano has had solo and group exhibitions in Argentina, EE.UU and Europe, and his work has been presented in major contemporary international art fairs including Arte BA, Art Chicago, ARCO, Art Miami and FIAC, among others.
He participated in biennials in Valparaíso, Chile (1993), La Habana, Cuba (1994) and Official collateral event of the 56th Venice Biennale (2015)
He received the Primer Premio de Escultura “Becas Miró” in 1993 Buenos Aires, Primer Premio “Escultura Joven 1994” from the Fundación Banco Crédito Argentino and Tercer Premio at the Salón Municipal “Manuel Belgrano” in 1999, Buenos Aires, among others.
Romano was a grant recipient from the Fondo Nacional de las Artes, Argentina in 1989 and Fundación Antorchas in 1990. He also received grants from the Fundación Llorens i Artigas in Barcelona in 1994 and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation in 2002. He was also awarded the Diploma al Mérito Artístico from the Fundación Konex in Sculpture, Quinquenio 1997- 2002.(2002)
