Vision of art
1. Choose a work that represents you, describe it in relation to its format and materiality, its relation with time and space, its style and theme; detail its production process.
Artwork: “Perceptions” [Percepciones]. I choose this group since talking of one of them is naming them all. They are photo-montages printed in photographic paper, in them I got to fusion reality and my surroundings’ fantasies, and in some kind of riddle I got these two concepts, that usually walk in parallel, to unite. I usually expose them in varied public spaces: from a museum to public squares with the aim that they will cause (as they do in me) “the urge to find that that hides behind the look but is felt”…beauty…silence…fight…waiting… in the middle of chaos, meaning, now and here.
2. In general terms, how would you suggest to approach your work?
With your look free and your heart open.
3. In reference to your work and your position in the national and international art fields, what tradition do you recognize yourself in? Who are your contemporary referents? What artists of previous generations are of interest to you?
I don’t usually analyze in which national or international art position I should be, I find my creation seduced by contemporaneity since I’m crossed by actual reality. My contemporary referents are several: in plastic art, for example, the Ar Detroy group, Uta Barth, Francis Alys, Oliver Henning, oriental art, poetry: Rabindranath Tagore. Cinema, Win Wenders, Kre Eda. Music: Ian Tierssen, Verónica Condomi…. And many more. Artists from former generations: Constantin Brancussi, Australian aborigine art, Hunderwasser, Egon Schiele, prehistoric art, just to name some…
4. Choose works or exhibitions from the last ten or fifteen years which in your opinion were very significant and explain why
Ar Detroy, at the Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires –MAMBA-; the artwork “10 Men” [“10 Hombres”]: soul feeding, with minimum material, sound and image, it fed my spirit for a long time.
