Palimpsestos (2013)

Palimpsestos 1. Ancient manuscript which preserves traces of a previous script that was removed. 2. Ancient tablet that could erase writing to write again. something having usually diverse layers or aspects apparent beneath the surface. 3. Latin palimpsestus, from Greek palimpsēstos scraped again, from palin + psēn to rub, scrape. Based on the definition of Palimpsest I make 3 videos during 2013 in which I'm still working, these works are related with the idea of the double and a false mirror with two subjects performing the same choreography facing each other. They combine video, costume and installation.

South Silouhette (2013)

Capsule collection for the Faena-Mercedes Benz Fashion Edition BA.
This capsule collection that Im presenting is all about garbage and nature. I made a selection of fabrics that had been wet by flood deposits in Belgrano. (a neighborhood of the low and floodable areas of the city where I live) during the days of the flood last year. I chose to work with synthetic fabrics of high percentages of polyester, lycra and also incorporating raffia. I was interested in the stains - water marks. So I pre-wash fabrics, that were permanently stained by water. Sections of the fabric had been colored in ocher and other still retained their original color. The dealer at the fabric store don’t want to sell me the fabrics, he wanted to throw them away. It made me think of the trash, the discarding. So I used as reference molds different kinds of plastic bags that are commonly used to throw the garbage. That made me think of the coexistence of garbage and nature, then add the shadow of the tree leaves printed on polyester fabric ... almost like an act of hope.
