Vision of art
1. Choose a work that represents you, describe it in relation to its format and materiality, its relation with time and space, its style and theme; detail its production process.
Lines that leave an extreme picture, forming an angle and returning in exact symmetry. Space that is open, fictitious depth. Lines forming a continuous plot, a visual intermittence. Expansive forces that remain in a latent state.
Color and light as axis of the work. Repetition or symmetry as constants.
2. In general terms, how would you suggest to approach your work?
Each painting as part of a series, look at in its totality. View a series in relation with the other. All of the series in totality.
3. In reference to your work and your position in the national and international art fields, what tradition do you recognize yourself in? Who are your contemporary referents? What artists of previous generations are of interest to you?
Stella, Rothko, Louis, Newman, Halley / Sol LeWit, Bridget Rilley, Sotto, Oiticica/ Lozza, Maldonado, Magariños, Paternosto, Le Parc / Bazán, de Sagastizabal, Jitrik, Cambre, Hasper, Avello, Sobrino, Gurfein, Lacarra, Dorr, Kacero, Burgos.
