Biography
Horacio Zabala (Buenos Aires, 1943).
Artist and architect (UBA, University of Buenos Aires). In 1976 he emigrates to Europe returning to Argentina in 1998. He currently resides in Buenos Aires. In 1967 he made his first solo exhibition and in 1972 he published his first theoretical text. To date he has done 35 solo exhibitions and over 100 group ones in America and Europe. In 1997 he creates an interactive work entirely done through Internet, produced and disseminated by the Center pour l'image contemporaine Saint-Gervais, Geneva. In 1998 he exhibits at the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires and at the National Endowment for the Arts in 2002.
His works are presented in the collections of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Rosario, The University of Iowa Museum of Art, USA, International Center of Graphic Arts in Ljubljana, Slovenia: University of Essex Collection of Latin American Art, England, among others.
In 1998 he publishes “Art, or the world for a second time” UNR editors, Rosario, and in 2000, with Luis Felipe Noe, “Art in question – talks”, Adriana Hidalgo Publications.
In 2004 he receives the First Prize Acquisition of the LVIII National Hall of Rosario. In 2005 he receives the Grand Prix National Exhibition Acquisition of Visual Arts in the discipline of installations and new media.
