Vision of art
1. Choose a work that represents you, describe it in relation to its format and materiality, its relation with time and space, its style and theme; detail its production process.
I cannot choose only one, and if I did this, it would only represent for a moment and would not be fair to my work, the act of painting, a conversation, a relationship between different materials and between those materials and their means; regular or irregular but continuous lines, points and counterpoints, color planes, absolute silence and deafening noise, geometry or not, a painting that conditions in many cases the shape and size of the means, painting without submissions, painting just to talk about painting. It is in this event where I feel represented in a more concrete way today.
2. In general terms, how would you suggest to approach your work?
I think I needn’t suggest a starting point to read my work.
3. In reference to your work and your position in the national and international art fields, what tradition do you recognize yourself in? Who are your contemporary referents? What artists of previous generations are of interest to you?
I recognize myself in the tradition of artists who, through their work, build a space for discovery and learning held with perseverance and a steady practice over time.
4. Choose works or exhibitions from the last ten or fifteen years which in your opinion were very significant and explain why
Some of the most significant exhibitions, according to my opinion, were: the retrospective of Jesús Rafael Soto (Proa Foundation), Sol LeWitt (Proa Foundation) or retrospectives of Oscar Bony, Grippo, Berni, De La Vega, the exhibition Fabián Burgos (Dabbah Torrejón Gallery), Liliana Porter (Recoleta Cultural Center), the retrospective of Federico Peralta Ramos (Modern Art Museum of Buenos Aires), Eduardo Stupía (Recoleta Cultural Center), Daniel Joglar (Recoleta Cultural Center).
